Chad was sitting at the bar beside Claire, who always spoke what she was thinking whether or not anyone cared or was listening. Most people ignored her. Chad wanted to ignore her but couldn't because of what she was saying.

"YOU KNOW' CHAD' I REALLY don't LIKE YOU", Claire told Chad. No one liked Chad that much so it was no surprise. The surprise was that few people saw a need to tell Chad out of politeness and the fact the he wouldn't hear it. Chad didn't hear just what he wanted to hear but he didn't hear everything you wanted him to hear either. Most people just ignored Chad. Claire should have too.

"I LIKE YOU TOO BUT NOT IN THAT WAY SO KEEP YOUR HANDS OFF ME”, Chad told her. Chad didn't like anyone for any reason ever since he realized that people were always whispering when he was around. He figured they were badmouthing him. People were but not whispering about it. Chad avoided fights by pretending to like everyone.

"HUH? I"M not INTERESED IN YOU THAT WAY”,Claire replied. Why would Chad think that? He was crazy, old and non too clean.

"THAT"S OK BUT I"M NOT INTERESTED IN YOU. SORRY”, Chad said. Claire wasn't a bad looker but she wasn't a good one either. Chad was way too old to care about a woman's wiles or body, especially Claire's.

“YOU"RE SORRY? I wouldn't WANT YOU TO TOUCH ME” , Claire screamed at Chad. Claire hadn't had a date in years and wasn't desperate enough to settle for Chad but sure didn't like him saying he didn't want her.

“ARE YOU DEAF? I'D RATHER TOUCH A LIVE WIRE THAN YOU”, Chad yelled. What's wrong with this crazy woman. He was saying it as clear as he possibly could, wasn't he?

“I'D never LET YOU TOUCH ME, You filthy OLD MAN”, Claire screamed back at him.

Chad gave up and left. He went outside where he ran into the Sheriff. The bartender had called him to say that trouble was brewing. The sheriff stopped Chad to see if everything was okay.

“ANY TROUBLE TODAY , Chad”

“JUST THAT GOOFY CLAIRE HITTING ON ME”, Chad told him.

“GEE,CHAD, I can't BELIVE EVEN CLARE WOULD DO THAT?”, the Sheriff replied.

“YEA, SHE'S CRAZY, ALL RIGHT”, Chad responded. “AT LEAST SHE DIDN'T WHISPER TOO MUCH”.
