Ernie pulled over to the side to let the police car get by. It pulled in behind him and sat there a while. Then the cop got out and approached Ernie’s car.

“Sir, do you know how fast you were going?”

“Sure.”

“Sir, do you know the speed limit here?”

“Sure.”

“Then, you know you were speeding.”

“Sure. What I didn’t know was you were around. You must have been hiding.”

“Yes, sir."

“Real sneaky aren’t you? Bet you used to sneak out of the house as a kid.”

“I did not! I’m writing you a ticket.”
