"Aye, Captain, I canna get the engine to start", Scottie told Kirk.

"Scotty, that's absurd. You're an engineer."

"Aye, Captain, that I am. I still canna get the engine to turn over."

"Mr. Scott, I'm on my way. Kirk out."

Scottie turned to Mr. Spock and told him, "Oh, no! He's gonna mess me engines up, no doubt."

Mr. Spock relied, "The logical thing to do then is to lock the door, Mr. Scott."

"I canna do that. I lost me key."

Just then the captain came in.

"What's the problem, Scottie?", Kirk asked.

"I canna get the engine to turn over, captain."

"To be precise, captain", Mr. Spock said, "the lithium crystals refuse to diffuse except in the binary system."

"Huh?", asked Kirk.

"Huh?", asked Scottie.

"Well now, Mr. Smarty Pants, do ye have a suggestion?', Scottie asked.

"Yes. If not I would not have spoken. I would suggest that the logical thing to do is to kick the daylights out of the stupid thing. How's that grab you?"
