Faith and Trust
Here’s a scary one for you. The American economy is backed by dollars that are backed by the faith and trust of the United States Government. Faith and trust. Does that make you feel all warm and cozy? How about this one. They have genetically engineered a fish that glows in the dark. Now you can have a pet and a nightlight in one package paid for by dollars based on faith and trust. One problem I see- “Honey, the nightlight fish died” “Yea, I know, I killed it”. “Why?” “It kept flashing it’s high beams at me so I killed it”. The priest was listening to a confession. “Father, I think I’m losing my faith”. “My son, we all go through these periods of doubt. Just pray and say twelve Hail Mary’s”. “No, I mean in our government. I’m an economist”. “Hey, you want to go to Hell? Just keep that up”. Yea, I watch our political leaders in action and I look at a dollar bill. I worry. I worry a lot. |
