Bill Gates Pocket
I guess most of the suffering from the latest internet virus is over. I had so many bounces I lost track and deleted them all. I got messages sent to me with the address wrong; I got them with my message from a different sender. It was awful. I don’t have any idea who got what from who. Who’s fault is it? The Virus author? Sure. Microsoft for selling an operating system that has the same security as a warehouse with a 72 year-old watchman who sleeps his shift away? Sure. Us for buying the system? Sure. Microsoft can’t see the security holes in their system? They’re the only ones that can’t then. Hard to believe that. “Umm, this is good but there’s a security hole here that you can park a semi in”, the programmer says. “So? We’ll give them patches for it. We need to get this out on the market. We have a cash cow here and we are going to milk it dry”, the boss replies. Like Dave Barry wrote: “All the money ends up in Bill Gates’ pocket”. |
