It wasn’t that Henry was a stupid cop. It was that Henry was a stupid man. Since his whole family were cops he naturally followed in their footsteps. They didn’t want him to because they knew he was stupid.

The Chief had known Henry all his stupid life. Not the Chief’s, Henry’s. The only stupid thing the Chief did was let Henry become a cop. He tried him as a desk man but Henry couldn’t spell very well and the judges kept throwing the cases out for “illegibility” (stupid writing).

He put Henry on parking meter duty. That failed because Henry didn’t have the heart to ticket someone for a lousy parking meter. He’d put the money in and go on. His stupid quota was way down.

“Henry! You have to write tickets! How do you think we pay for our beer busts!?,stupid!”, the Chief screamed at Henry.

The Chief was so angry that he put Henry as his dad’s partner. Henry’s dad promptly retired. His brother joined the Sheriff’s department. His other brother joined the State Police.

Henry didn’t want to be a cop anymore with no family around. He joined the FBI. No one is too stupid for them.
