Not aA Good Time To Call
“Time!”, the ump yelled out. “Yea? Hi, Bob. Bob, this is a bad time. I’m in a game. No, I’m actually on first base. Huh? Oh, thank you. Call me later”. “Bob? Bob Grady? Man, what a simpleton. Good agent but doofless otherwise”, First Baseman Howie Short told Billy just as his phone rang. He asked for time. “Time!”, the ump yelled out. “Yea, Bob. No, it’s not. I’m in the same game as Billy. If he’s on first, then I must be on the field. Call another time”. “Yea, an idiot alright”, Billy said. “Well, gentlemen, if you’re all through with your calls, maybe we can get back to the game”, the ump told them.
“What? What did you say. Out! You’re out of here, mister”, the ump responded. “Jeez, Carl, what’s with you?”, Billy asked. “You’re out! Both of you head for the showers”. This brought both managers out of the dugout. They wanted to know why their guys were being tossed. The ump told them. They started to argue the point and he tossed them. They didn’t leave right away. They had a large, filthy vocabulary and were going to use most of it. The ump knew all the dirty words too. This went on until the Chief Ump came out to tell the managers that they’d made their point. As he told them it was time to call it a day, his phone rang. |
